Veteran’s Day

As a veteran myself Sunday’s celebration of Veteran’s Day always takes on special meaning for me. My goal in life is to do away with the holiday by ending the stupid decisions made by our glorious leaders in Washington. I’m tired of our sons & daughters being put in harm’s way because of “weapons of mass destruction” and “the fight against communism”.

I created the postcards below of a victim of agent orange during the Vietnam War, Tom. I was privileged to meet Tom during a senior service at Evergreen Christian Center in Hillsboro, Oregon. Tom was a member there that gave his testimony about the circumstances that left him in a wheelchair for life, forced to drag around an oxygen bottle that allowed him to breathe. Tom asked me to take his portrait without realizing that just two weeks later he would be called home to heaven. His portrait, taken by me, was posted on the memorial brochure at his funeral service. I wish to dedicate this Veteran’s Day to Tom.
