Weekly Photo Challenge: Illumination

I love lighthouses. There are lots of them in Oregon along the Pacific Coast. Cape Meares, OR  has a working lighthouse. There are tours available most of the year through the inside of this historic location. It was out of commission for a while as local vandals shot out the one of a kind, antique bulb. They were caught and paid dearly for another identical bulb to be made. I have all three photos, before the shooting, plywood covered windows and the new bulb working in the lighthouse.

    • I’ve frequented three of the best at Cape Meares, Haceta Head & Yaquina Head in Newport. Some are working lighthouses such as Haceta Head and the rest are historic sites that are well maintained. People in the Pacific Northwest form clubs to care for them.
