Jack The Cat is still loving his Zhu Zhu hamster that I bought him for Christmas two years ago. I’ve seen Jack sound asleep outside his cat box with his head touching his Zhu Zhu.
A Zhu Zhu is a mechanical hamster that comes in a wide variety of styles, colors and formats. It runs all over the place and changes directions when it comes in contact with anything. It has a large vocabulary and squawks & squeals while interacting with your pet.
The prices range from under $6 to over $25 depending on your choices. I hate when I sound like a commercial so be assured I have no affiliation with this product. I simply think it’s the greatest buddy you can buy a pet.

This is really neat, Bob. I’ve never heard of them. Of course, I don’t have a pet anymore. I’ve had a dog — of one kind or another — almost all my life, but I don’t have one now. Kind of wish I did, but then I’m almost too busy to give him attention, and he would be lonely and unhappy.

That’s how I visualized Cupcake and her mechanical hamster. That’s not the way it worked around here. She tries to hide from it, so it mostly stays in the toy box. Jack is braver than Cupcake, apparently….
It does make quite a racket. LOL Maybe if you left it out where Cupcake can get to it he/she could warm up to it on his/her own comfort level.
