I’ve mentioned in other posts about flower photography that light color flowers are a bear to expose properly and retain detail in the highlights. This rose was no exception. Again, shooting in RAW format gave me the latitude I needed to pull it off. The petals are so delicate and textured that you can feel the rose with this photo. It’s one of my best yellow flower photographs. I used my Nikon D800 with my top of the line Nikkor 24-70mm F/2.8 lens. This lens has phenomenal sharpness are sensitivity to light. That’s why it’s $1850 just for the lens. It’s worth it when you need a wide angle to medium telephoto that’s fast. It’s ideal for flower photography.

Wow!
“Wow!” saving this post for reference! Thanks Bob
You’re very welcome. I have hundreds of shots to choose from but this photo just fit the post. Glad you enjoyed it.
You have captured different aspects of the rose beautifully!
WOW!
Can you imagine how it’s killing me to be away from Summertime shooting for so long? I take my shots when I get a break in the weather but in full Summer mode they world is my oyster. It’s so terribly beautiful that even in retirement I can’t capture it all.
