This is another one of those flowers I mentioned where I haven’t a clue as to the variety. I was at the zoo one day intending to photograph the hippos when, to my dismay, the zoo staff was there cleaning the habitat. Not to waste the journey I noticed these brilliantly colored flowers right over the low fence next to the viewing area. I leaned over and captured a few shots. I was amazed at the amount of detail in the flower along with the surrounding greens. Look at all that pollen on the stamen! Somebody needs a bee.
So, if you can identify the species shout it out. There were no signs of tags near these flowers. Yea, I found out this is known as a Blanketflower. It’s actually native to Oregon. I discovered a great website that identifies all native Oregon species at - http://www.oregonflowerseed.com/ That may help me a lot in the future. Thanks to Pat at http://imissmetoo.me/ for the heads up on that name.

Family, queens daisy bush I think
It looks like what I know as a blanket flower. It is a ground cover which is where the name comes from.
Thanks, I’ll look that up.
