The Petting Zoo

I gave an out of town family from Florida a private tour today of my beloved Oregon Zoo. We walked the entire circuit until their 2 year old boy ran out of gas, too exhausted to continue. We had covered quite a lot of ground by that time with the last significant stop being the petting zoo in the barn and the pygmy barn where the youngster got to love on a really docile goat. It was a cute scene to capture with my camera but signalled the beginning of the end for their day at the zoo. Once the little boy laid his head down on that goat we could all tell it was nap time. So, we called it a day and headed for the zoo cafeteria for lunch. I gave the parents a contact card and asked them to send me an email to get their photos. It turned out to be just the one cute interaction at the goat petting zoo.
