Every country in the world has lost men and women in some kind of Armed Forces. When does your country celebrate or mourn their deaths?
I’ve never liked the term “celebrate” in conjunction with the death of our fallen soldiers. Memorial Day is the day we set aside to observe the passing of those who gave their lives in the service of our country.
What is your favorite holiday(s)?
I’d have to pick Thanksgiving as my favorite holiday. There are no wars, deaths or manmade creations associated with this holiday. You don’t have to run out and buy someone a gift. It’s truly the only day left that celebrates the family.
How do you celebrate that holiday?
You come, you stuff yourself, you become a couch potato and you look around you at familiar faces in the same agony. Life, is good! If you’re like my family you take turns expressing what you are grateful for this year. The list gets longer every year.
