The Volunteer

We’re in the middle of Summer. People are taking their vacations before the new school year begins. Families are out of town. Churches in our area are starved for volunteers to fill in for the regular staff in all departments.

God bless the folks that step up to the plate, regardless of their age or abilities. It may have been decades since they last played their instrument of choice. Still, they raised their hand, trying their best.

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody! With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord”!

    • He was a horrible drummer and made all sorts of distorted faces. I personally don’t think his elevator went to the top floor. However, he did show up for practice and filled a role.
